Area employers will be recruiting for approximately 700 jobs at a community-wide job fair on Tuesday, April 14, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning & Research (150 Slayton Avenue, Danville).  The job fair will feature 37 companies that have identified approximately 700 positions in manufacturing, health care, customer service, sales, maintenance, management, and more.

The doors will open to the general public at 11 a.m.  Job seekers who pre-registered and/or attained their National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) will be allowed early admission from 10 – 11 a.m.  To pre-register or to learn more about the NCRC assessment, visit www.dpchamber.org/2015-job-fair.  Pre-registration will close at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 13.

Participating employers include Abbott Laboratories, Adecco, AmeriStaff, Bankers Insurance/Carter Bank & Trust, Big Sky Rents & Events, Blue Ridge Fiberboard, Centra Health, City of Danville, Daly Seven, Danville Fire & Police Depts., Danville Public Schools, Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, Debbie's Staffing, Dollar General Distribution Center, Elkay, Essel Propack America, Gateway Health Alliance, Goodwill Industries, Green Rock Correctional Center, IKEA Industry, Lowe's, Nestle, Peace Haven Home Health Care, Pepsi Co., Piedmont Broadcasting Corp., Pittsylvania County Schools, Probation & Parole District 14 – Danville, Regional One EMS, Steve Padgett's Danville Honda, Team Nurse, Telvista, The Hughes Center, Transamerica Agency Network, Unilin Flooring, Unique Industries, and  Wells Fargo.

The job fair is being sponsored by the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Workforce Center, the Dan River Region Collaborative, American National University, Averett University, and Danville Community College.
