LEADING BUSINESSES. LEADING COMMUNITIES.

August 19, 2016

“Organizations and community leaders want to know how to facilitate discussions that result in planning and clear direction,” said Martha Walker, Ph.D, Community Viability Specialist with Virginia Cooperative Extension. The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Virginia Cooperative Extension is responding to this request by offering “Strengthening Your Facilitation Skills” training that delivers proven strategies for effective facilitation practices.

The two-day facilitation training will be offered on September 14th and 15th in the Community Room of the Danville Family YMCA.  The first day’s training begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. with day two beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.  The training will be provided by Walker and Jamie Stowe, ANR Agent and Pittsylvania County Unit Coordinator.

During the training, participants will have the opportunity to practice newly learned facilitation skills in an experiential setting, observe facilitation challenges, and identify practices that will prepare each person to develop and guide the facilitation process.

The registration fee of $129/participant includes all materials for the program, lunch for both days and a light breakfast for the second day. To register online please visit the Chamber’s website at www.dpchamber.org. You may also register by contacting the Chamber at 434.836.6990, chamber@dpchamber.org , or llawson@dpchamber.org. The number of participants is strictly limited and the class will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
