Business Appreciation Week is being celebrated in Danville and Pittsylvania County from June 6 – June 10, 2016. With a tagline of “Thank you for choosing to grow here,” the region is planning events to show appreciation to businesses that have chosen to locate, invest, and grow in the region.
Danville City Manager Ken Larking will be the featured speaker at the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce’s Business at Breakfast on Tuesday, June 7, at 7:30 a.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning & Research (150 Slayton Avenue, Danville).
The Honorable Todd Haymore, Virginia's Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, will speak at a lunch meeting on Wednesday, June 8, at 12 noon at the Olde Dominion Agricultural Center (19783 US Highway 29 South, Chatham). The event, which is sponsored by the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, is open to the community.
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2016-17 class of Leadership Southside. The deadline for applications to be returned to the Chamber of Commerce office is June 17, 2016.
Eighteen community leaders joined the ranks of Leadership Southside alumni as they graduated on Monday night during the Annual Awards Dinner of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, held at the Institute for Advanced Learning & Research. With the latest class, 443 people have now completed the community leadership program for Danville and Pittsylvania County which is sponsored by the Chamber. Monday night’s class represented the 21st class to complete the program.
Six young professionals were honored for their outstanding professional and community contributions at the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards dinner on Monday night. The PACE (Professional and Community Engagement) Awards were presented to exceptional young professionals who have made significant contributions to our region through professional achievements as well as through community/volunteer service.
Davenport Energy, Inc. was named the recipient of the 2016 Pinnacle Award by the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce at the organization’s annual awards dinner on May 9th. The Pinnacle Award is presented to a business or organization whose outstanding achievements serve as a model for success.
