Participants at the recent “Networking Without the Work” workshop spent time in small group exercises to improve their networking skills.
A workshop was recently held to provide information to area citizens who may be interested in running for public office this year or at some point in the future. Pictured is Dr. Martha A. Walker of Virginia Cooperative Extension who helped to coordinate the program which was sponsored in partnership with the chamber.
The Chamber recently sponsored a workshop on customer service with over 60 Chamber members in attendance. The program, discussed key elements of great customer service. The Chamber’s Board of Directors and Legislative Committee met with state legislators in early December to review key issues of concern for the 2010 session of the Virginia General Assembly.

Chamber members work together to identify ways to influence positive change at the recent Dale Carnegie Training workshop - Leading Through the Storm – led by Sheryl Crawford. Dale Carnegie Training is recognized internationally as the leader in bringing out the best in people.
A free workshop on “Preventing and Diffusing Workplace Violence” was recently held at the Stratford Courtyard Conference Center. The workshop was designed to help you in the early recognition, intervention, and resolution of problems before they result in serious and job performance dysfunction and/or a violent confrontation in the workplace. On the Fast Track...Speed Networking
The Chamber held its first Speed Networking event in July. Sponsored and hosted by VIRginia International Raceway, the event was designed to offer the opportunity to make multiple business contacts in a minimum amount of time.
