A reception was recently held for the 2009-10 class of Leadership Southside. Pictured from left are Leadership Southside alumni Barry Richmond (Goodwill Industries) and Tom Vick (Averett University) with new class members Donna Benz (Averett University) and Shaffer Vaughan (BB&T). Richmond chairs the Leadership Southside Planning Committee of which Vick is also a member.
Karl N. Stauber, President & CEO of the Danville Regional Foundation (DRF), spoke to Leadership Southside XVI about transformational leadership and the vision of DRF. Later in the day, participants heard from a panel featur ing Jo Andrews (Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.), Philip Broadfoot (Danville Police Chief), Kevin Freier (Intertape Polymer Group), and James McDaniel (Pittsylvania County Schools) on ‘Crisis Leadership.’ The day concluded with a viewing of Apollo 13 as it related to crisis leadership.
