Recognizing that workforce development is one of the most important issues facing our employers, the Chamber has allocated significant resources to our workforce development efforts. We are developing initiatives and alliances that effectively address workforce development issues, and identifying and addressing necessary workforce skills in developing a talent pipeline.
A few of the activities coordinated by the Chamber include:
- Community-wide and/or targeted job fairs as needed
- The region’s efforts to become a Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC) by encouraging employers to use the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
- Quarterly meetings of the business service representatives from the various workforce partners to promote better communication and collaboration among the partners
- Workshops, programs, and resources that address hiring and human resource topics for employers
