Anne Moore- Sparks

President & CEO

Anne is a Danville native and a proud alumni of George Washington High School and Averett University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration. She most recently served Danville Public Schools in several capacities; the community engagement and business partnership specialist, teacher quality specialist, and the director of the Danville Public Schools Education Foundation. She also worked for Gateway Health as a project manager, and for the City of Danville as a project manager for the Office of Economic Development where she was responsible for the revitalization of the Downtown and Tobacco Warehouse historic districts.

Anne is excited to lead the Chamber during this time of growth for the community. Having been born and raised in the region, Anne has a passion for seeing her community grow and prosper. 

In her role, Anne will work tirelessly to build the Chamber's role and relevance in the economic vitality of the region. She will serve the business community and the Chamber's 600 members by listening to members and collaborating with partners to enhance programs and services, engage volunteers, build financial strength and develop staff to make the Chamber a respected thought leader, convener, and an effective advocate for business.

Anne is an alumni of Leadership Southside and the Sorenson Institute for Political Leadership.

She lives in Danville with her husband Todd and their 3 fur babies.

Christy Harper

Director of Member Engagement

Christy was hired in 2021 as Membership Manager and helped lead the Chamber through COVID and recent leadership changes. She was promoted to the Director of Member Engagement position in June 2022.

In her new role, Christy develops strategic projects that focus on the execution of initiatives that drive results in member recruitment, retention, and engagement. She implements programs, events, and services that directly affect member needs and interests. 

Christy brings a strong background in community development, community engagement, and business networking. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Saint Paul's College, a Duke Non-Profit Management Certificate, and is a graduate of Leadership Southside. She was a member of the Dan River Region Entrepreneur Ecosystem COVID-19 Microgrant Selection Committee and led production for a recent TEDx Danville.

She also serves on various boards within the community to include the River District Association and the Danville Science Center. In addition, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Christy has a passion for the community and walks with a strong Christian faith. She attends Christ Temple Apostolic Church where she is instrumental in several ministries. She is married to Darrell Harper, and together they have two amazing children, Kristen and Kohlman.

Crystal Hairston

Director of Operations

Crystal was hired in August 2022 as the Director of Operations, a newly created position that will play an integral role in delivering high value to Chamber members.Crystal is responsible for the management and coordination of all operational activities which are vital to the execution of Chamber programs and initiatives. She also collaborates with Christy Harper, the Director of Member Engagement, to develop and oversee membership recruitment, retention, and engagement for the Chamber and manage administrative tasks related to communication with vendors, partners, board members, and event coordination.

Crystal brings a strong background in community engagement and workforce development. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management from Patrick & Henry Community College and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honors Society. Crystal is a Certified Career Coach and a Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She most recently held positions with Piedmont Community Services as an Employment Specialist/Case Manager and with Goodwill Industries of the Valley as a GoodCare Regional Coordinator. 

Crystal loves to travel and is Mom to three adult sons and a teenage daughter. Collectively, her children play over 30 musical instruments.

Delilah White

Special Programs Coordinator

With extensive experience in small business ownership, software services management, higher education, community development and engagement, Delilah joins the Chamber to serve as the Special Programs Coordinator.  

In her new role, Delilah works closely with the Chamber's Director of Member Engagement to plan, organize, and execute all Chamber programs and events. Additionally, she devotes fifty percent of her time collaborating with Danville Community College to manage the Short-Term Cybersecurity Training Program. Delilah's goals are to create local and regional employment pipelines for graduates of DCC's Cybersecurity Program and serve the business communities of Danville and Pittsylvania County.

Delilah is a native of Chatham, VA, a graduate of Chatham High School, Emory & Henry College, The University of North Carolina Greensboro, and the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center having earned a certification in Mechatronics Engineering. She has lived, studied, and worked all over the world including Beijing, China, Kingston, Jamaica, and Togo, West Africa. 

Delilah is the founder and executive director of Off Season, a local nonprofit organization focused on holistic youth and economic development in Pittsylvania County, a member of the Chatham Community Council recently established by the Danville Regional Foundation, a member of the Collaboration Lab '23-'24 Cohort, and a Committee Member of Reimagine Chatham. 

She is married to her childhood sweetheart, Ryan, who is a talented baker! Together they own and operate Ry's Pies 'N Cobblers, a baked goods business specializing in organic, from scratch products. They are the proud and supportive "Aunties" of 14 nieces and nephews.
